Story

With the 2008 vintage, the collaboration between YOSHIKI and his winemaking partner, Rob Mondavi Jr., began. In 2018, to celebrate their tenth anniversary together, they released the limited Y by YOSHIKI Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley 2016, which is sourced exclusively from the world-renowned cabernet sauvignon growing region in the Napa Valley called “Oakville”—also home of legendary wineries such as Screaming Eagle, Harlan and Opus One, just to name a few.

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, which YOSHIKI proudly presented as “a masterpiece”, gained reputation and demands for the next vintage came pouring in. Based on this success, YOSHIKI is proud to announce the launch the Third vintage of the Oakville series, Y by YOSHIKI Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley 2018.

Tasting Note

The color is beautiful and vibrant with deep blue and purple hues. The aromatics open with classic elegant cassis, muddled huckleberries, cacao, a subtle woody aspect with vanilla and warm toffee that comes from the new French oak barrels. The greeting of the wine is exceptionally balanced with a true beginning middle and lengthy finish. The pallet is full, smartly mirroring the aromatics with vine ripe loganberries, currants and huckleberry. The textures are wonderfully full with a superbly smooth texture.
